Anyone can learn to climb. Climbing isn’t just about physical strength; it’s also about proper hand and foot placement, concentration and technique. At Rocky Top, we offer both top rope climbing up to 20 feet and bouldering up to 13 feet.

New to climbing or afraid of heights? No problem. Rocky Top is the perfect friendly place to learn, and we rent all the equipment you’ll need, plus we teach you what you need to know. To use our climbing wall’s top ropes, you need a harness and a belay partner. If you are unfamiliar with belaying, call ahead to schedule a belay lesson. If you need a belay partner and don’t have one, you can hire one of our staff members.

Experienced climber? Come to Rocky Top and hone your skills and build strength and endurance. We change our routes weekly so there is always a new challenge to tackle. We also have a campus board and multiple finger training boards.

Bouldering does not require the use of a rope, and we will give first-time boulderers a free orientation. Fresh boulder problems are set weekly by our talented and imaginative setters. We have plenty of problems for beginners as well as mind-bendingly hard routes for stronger climbers.

A safety waiver and orientation is required for all climbers, and the waiver must be signed by a parent or guardian if the climber is under the age of 18. This can be done when you arrive at Rocky Top, or you can download the waiver here – sign and bring it with you.
